Thanks for the replys so far, here are my additional thoughts: The bigger issue though is that we will probably only have a 2 week break between seasons meaning that after this year it won't really be possible to have fully accurate drafts. Comm Nail... hammer.... but the two together...... Yes this is a major issue, and the main reason (yes I forgot to add this to my comments above) about why real players might be confusing/difficult. We have the potential here to be running 2, if not 3 seasons per year, and so will quickly run out of real life players. Does UFL have the ability to automatically generate new players for you? If so that would seem to be the easier way to go. Alternatively you could go back in time and create historical players For me at the end of the day I am not bothered about "real" or "made up" I will be looking at the stats. Cheers

I say we do the whole hog offseason. FA in Feb, draft in April, camp in july, 4 game preseason in AUG then season starts in SEP

I have to agree alot of people will lose interest if theres long periods between doing things and also alot of people will forget to log on when they need to in order to draft etc if its too spaced out

Quite surprise by the recent comments suggesting that DFL follows an annual schedule. I was rather hoping (and indeed the Comm was alluding to this in an earlier post above) that we would be running more than one season per annum. Do I want to spend the next 10 years to have only 10 seasons - not really - it will be exceedingly boring.

Agreeing with the Bears BUT I'm not sure that was the suggestion.. Once the season is finished, then put in the free agency period, say for a week before the draft is done, then once the draft is done, I guess training camp happens ( where we get to use our hard earned or gambled TP's) then straight into the next season.. so rather than running one season straight after another, just have an extra few days for the FA period....
perhaps.....

We were gonna have 2 weeks off-season anyway. Thats more than enough to sign free agents. The Draft will only be a couple of nights aswell wont it?
And we dont need a training camp because the TPs are randomised anyway - which before any one suggests they _should_ DEFFINATELY be random, other wise you will just start upping your draft picks and what not - not realistic.
The way its panning out at the moment (i think), we are going to need to alternate Custom Draft and Real Draft, because by the time season one is done, we'll be into Feb. By the time season two has finished we _should_ (if ive counted right) be into July which means we can have a real draft before season 3.

how about only having a draft every 2nd season, but also only having FA/retirements etc. once a year

hmm...could work... So a player ages every 2 seasons. Could work. Might make take some tweaking.

how about only having a draft every 2nd season, but also only having FA/retirements etc. once a year Wouldn't you end up basically coaching the same team twice. I don't see that there would be enough "movement" or volatility.
